Old Habits Don't Have To Die Hard

A few weeks ago, we traveled to Denver to play in a roller derby bout against the Rocky Mountain Roller Girls Project Mayhem. Backtrack a little bit, and yes, we both joined the local roller derby league here in Durango -- the Durango Roller Girls. For those not in the know, we've both been playing flat track roller derby since 2010.

The team was tough, and the bout was hard. However, it got us thinking about our human experiment and everything that is really involved in trying new things and changing your life.

In an effort to be different, don' t lose sight of still doing the things that you love. What we mean is, when forcing ourselves out of our comfort zone, it's easy to forget who we really are and what we really love, often resulting in more confusion. The idea of a clean slate and starting over doesn't have to mean quitting habits, routines and hobbies that you enjoy. Take comfort in still doing "old" things, while embarking on those that are new.
